Despite a background in Statistics from the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State, Folorunso felt an undeniable calling to embrace this art form. “My pencil is an extension of my soul, as it connects me to the nature around me,” he reflects, capturing the passion that drives his work.Working with pastels on canvas, Folorunso expertly manipulates light and shadow to evoke profound depth, blending influences from the photorealism movement and his knowledge of Photography with a distinctive, modern voice. With each portrait, he strives to preserve African heritage and inspire a richer understanding of African identity, sharing the essence of each subject with unfiltered authenticity.
